Help with Hidden on Earth
Answers to the usual questions, and an address that a person reads.
Write to us
Something broken, a hiding place that will not take a tap, a count that looks wrong, or an idea for a painting. Please say which device you use and which painting it happened on.
privacy@ucer.usWe answer in English or Turkish. This is a family project, so a person reads every message.
Playing
How do you play?
Pick a painting. The cards along the bottom show what is hiding in it, each with a small picture and a count such as 0 / 3. Find those things in the painting and tap them. When every card is done, the painting is finished and its sticker goes into the sticker book.
We are stuck on the last one.
Tap the yellow lightbulb. One thing that is still hiding pulses for three seconds. It also helps to zoom in: pinch with two fingers, or use the plus and minus buttons at the bottom right.
My child tapped the right thing and nothing happened.
Zoom in and tap the middle of it. If it still does not respond, check the card: the thing may already be counted, or the card may mean a different one (for example the big bird, not the birds on the branches). If you think the game is wrong, please write to us. Every count is meant to be exact, and a mistake there is a bug we want to fix.
How do I zoom and move the painting?
Pinch to zoom, up to four times. Drag with one finger to move a zoomed painting. The buttons at the bottom right zoom in and out.
Is there a timer or a score?
No. There is no clock, no score and no way to lose. A tap in the wrong place does nothing but make a small ripple.
Sound and language
The words are not spoken aloud.
Turn the volume up with the side buttons while the game is open. The words are read by the device's own built-in voice and should play even when the silent switch is on. If there is still no sound, close the app fully and open it again, then write to us if it persists.
The menus are in Turkish but the words are spoken in English. Is that a bug?
No, it is on purpose. Menus follow the device language (Turkish or English). The names of things are always spoken in English, because the game was made for a child who is learning English.
Can I change the language inside the game?
Not inside the game. It follows the language of the device: Turkish on a Turkish device, English on any other.
Progress and devices
Is progress saved?
Yes, on the device. Finished paintings keep their star and their sticker, and a half-finished painting remembers what was already found. Nothing is stored online, so progress does not move between devices.
How do I start again from zero?
A single painting can be replayed with Play Again on the win screen. To clear everything, delete the app and install it again.
Which devices does it run on?
iPad and iPhone with iOS 17 or later. It is best on an iPad, where the painting is large. On an iPhone it plays in landscape.
Can we add our own pictures?
Not yet. The Your collection row holds drawings by the child the game was made for. Adding a family's own pictures from inside the app is something we would like to build.
Safety
Does it have ads, purchases or tracking?
No ads, no in-app purchases, no analytics and no tracking. The app makes no network connections. The details are in the privacy policy.
Where do the paintings come from?
All of them are public-domain works, taken from museum open-access programmes or Wikimedia Commons. The full list with sources is on the credits page.
